We are heavily involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We also take part in a number of other teaching related research and scholarship projects


At undergraduate level we are responsible for the BSc (Hons) in Environmental management and technology. As part of this we have prime responsibilities for certain modules – U116 Environment: journeys through a changing world, T219 Environmental management 1, T319 Environmental management 2 – and contribute to others – DST206 Environment: sharing a dynamic planet and T307 Innovation: designing for a sustainable future. There is open entry to the BSc programme and its constituent modules and study is managed through what the Open University calls Supported Open Learning.


At postgraduate level we lead on the MSc in Environmental Management and most of its modules: T863 Environmental decision making: a systems approach; T867 Managing for sustainability; T868 Environmental monitoring and protection and TD866 Environmental responsibility: ethics, policy and action. In addition members of EMTG also contribute to the Masters programmes in Systems Thinking in Practice and in Development Management.
