Members of the OU Acoustics Research Group have featured in several radio and television interviews discussing their research:

In May 2002, Dr Aijun Li, Dr David Sharp and Dr James Whitehouse appeared in an item on BBC Look East, talking about acoustical measurements on brass instruments.


Trumpet leadpipes
In June 2002, Dr David Sharp described acoustic pulse reflectometry measurements of trumpet leadpipes in a feature on BBC Radio Four’s “Leading Edge” programme. Click control to hear the broadcast.

Wall vibrations
In January 2006, in an interview for BBC Three Counties radio, Dr James Whitehouse and Dr David Sharp described measurements of the wall vibrations that are excited when brass instruments are blown. Click control to hear the broadcast.

Sound level measurements
In late October 2008, Dr David Sharp and Dr Shahram Taherzadeh carried out sound level measurements at Stadium MK during the MK Dons v Cheltenham Town football match.
