Michael Hush

Staff Tutor

A chartered engineer and member of the IMechE and the IED, he graduated from Nottingham University in Mechanical Engineering in 1981. He was a sponsored student with the National Coal Board. He subsequently worked as a structures engineer specialising in finite element analysis in the rail industry with ABB Transportation and British Rail Engineering, in the oil and gas industry with Wellstream, a subsidiary of Halliburton and PAFEC, an engineering analysis software developer. He was a senior lecturer for 5 years in the School of Engineering at the University of Derby.

A senior member of the Design and Engineering programme having previously been Programme Director for 5 years.He is the chair of T450, The Engineering Project, T397 Key Skills for Professional Engineers and T398 Towards Chartership. He has worked on several modules mainly in the Engineering Qualifications and is the lead for their accreditation with the Professional Engineering Institutions
