I have now worked at the Open University for nearly half of my life! So I am either boring, ultra conservative, had no career plan, or find the place nice to work in (or at least my part of it). The reality is probably a mix of all four. Starting out life in a group that designed and delivered manufacturing and business training, I then moved in to the then Faculty of Technology to continue the activity. A refocussing of effort saw me working on the creation of a rapid materials development facility within the postgraduate Manufacturing Programme. Times and direction change, the manufacturing programme was superceded by the Technology Management programme where I have since chaired 3 modules.
I do not undertake research activities.
