Senior Lecturer

I worked in a variety of roles within the Open University: as a tutor and course manager for design courses and 13 years as Staff Tutor with responsibility for the delivery of all Technology Faculty courses in the London Region before taking on a Central Academic role.

Since 2001 have been a member of the Design and Innovation group and have contributed to the development of the Design and Innovation Diploma and Degree and I now lead this qualification. This has included leading the introduction of extensive electronic resources to assist learning.  I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and undertake scholarship research looking at the use of digital media in design education.

Main research interests, user centred design, participation in design and elearning for design.
Member of the Design Innovation Group, research into consumer responses to sustainable products.
Scholarship research in design teaching using digital media and interfaces

I have extensive experience of teaching in both print and digital media.
