I worked in a variety of roles within the Open University: as a tutor and course manager for design courses and 13 years as Staff Tutor with responsibility for the delivery of all Technology Faculty courses in the London Region before taking on a Central Academic role.
Since 2001 have been a member of the Design and Innovation group and have contributed to the development of the Design and Innovation Diploma and Degree and I now lead this qualification. This has included leading the introduction of extensive electronic resources to assist learning.

Member of the Design Innovation Group, research into consumer responses to sustainable products.
Researching perceptions of 3D objects on a 2D interface using eye-tracking technology.
Researching design teaching using electronic mediums including video podcasting, DVD and on-line conferencing.
I have extensive experience of teaching in both print and digital media.

In my previous role of staff tutor I was responsible for the delivery of faculty teaching and development of part time lecturing staff in the London region.
