Senior Lecturer

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Technology Management within the Department of Engineering and Innovation and chair the module T846 Technology Strategy. I have recently completed a five year stint as MCT's Associate Dean (Curriculum and Qualifications. Before joining the OU in 2002 I was Programme Director for UG and PG Technology Management at Liverpool John Moores University. Before entering academia in 1996, I worked in a variety of professional roles in the electricity industry and have extensive expereince of Research and Development project management, technology-based business development, and management of technical and consultancy services in a contract Research and Development organisation.

Current research interests include the strategic and operations management of research and technology organisations, approaches to the marketing of high technology services and the teaching of technology and innovation management.

My current academic interests include technology strategy, operations management, the marketing of technology-based products, and the management of technology-intensive knowledge-based services.  I am currently presentation Chair of T846 Technology strategy and previously chaired T883 Business operations: delivering value through both production and presentation 2004-2015 and was the main author for this module. I have been a contributing author on T846 Technology strategy and T848 Managing Technological Innovation.  I am also currently a member of the module production team for T849 Strategic Capabilities in Technological Innovation.

In addition to my course team roles, I was formerly Programme Director for Postgraduate Technologies (2007-10), and MCT's Associate Dean (Curriculum and Qualifications) from 2010 to 2015.
