Allan Jones

Senior Lecturer

Allan Jones's research centres mainly on the history and social context of science and technology. He has published several papers relating to the BBC's early coverage of science and technology, in particular looking at recurring patterns of institutional conflict associated with science broadcasting. He has also published on aspects of educational technology, telecommunucations regulation and musicology.

Allan Jones's teaching is mostly related to communcations technology. He currently chairs the 30-point module TM355 Communications Technology, for which he contribute to Block 3 Access Systems and Networks (covering mobile communications, broadband and optical fibre).
